A conversation on design leadership and what to do with that "seat at the table" once you have it.

Getting a seat at the table… I’m here, what happens now? Why this matters: Compared to product management and engineering, user experience is still a relatively new field. This leads to a near-universal challenge faced by UX practitioners today: getting a “seat at the table” when it comes to product strategy and decision making. However, as companies evolve and UX becomes more involved in these discussions, time to take stock and assess what it really means for UX to have a strategic influence. What we hope to accomplish: Hear from a panel of senior user experience professionals in research and design. How to best influence strategic decision-making with non-UX partners? How to balance the sometimes “un-fun” work of strategic decision making while also remaining true to our discipline Provide guidance to people hoping to reach or recently getting their “seat” on how to thrive.
